At Last!….Sunshine!…

1March2010 009

Well, it’s the first of March…St David’s Day…& we left the house this morning in SUNSHINE!!! Can it really be that Spring is truly around the corner…dare I hope that we have seen the last of the snow…will that be me tempting fate?!!

Just look at this gorgeous blue sky!! I actually had the window open in the car on the school run…I was tempted to leave my coat OFF this afternoon…but being sensible (!?!), thought better of it!!!

When I set off across the marsh that is our back lawn, to feed the guinea pigs, a flash of yellow caught my eye. On closer inspection I discovered these beauties in amongst the leaf mould & weeds in the border! The garden is looking a little neglected…OK...a LOT neglected!! But this bit of sunshine today has got me thinking of pruning, raking & bedding plants!!!

Then on the way home from school, there were lambs skipping around the field! What say’s SPRING more than that?!!

Now…I can share with you the second LO I submitted for my GDT spot on TAAFOMFT…’My Favourite Friend…
FavrFreindresize  ..Lee!  Do pop over to take a look at all the fabulous DT LO’s for this challenge, not to mention the winners of the ‘Favourite Memory’ challenge. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Julie for the wonderful opportunity..it’s been great fun! VALENTINES%20DAY

Amanda & I actually got to the cinema last night…after a gap of THREE weeks!! We saw ‘Valentines Day’..OK I know we’re two weeks late, but it was fabulous…What an amazing cast!!! Shirley Maclaine is living proof that you CAN grow older gracefully…Julia Roberts was stunning…& I drooled over Taylor..even though I’m old enough to be his mother!!! A gorgeous ‘feel good’ film…with some very unexpected twists! Definitely up there with ‘Four Weddings’ & ‘Love Actually’…Go see it!! You’ll be glad you did!!

1March2010 033Lastly…Nathan had a ‘Food Tech’ lesson again today…this time he baked scones!

They were of the plain variety…mainly because he only remembered to give me his ingredient list at 10pm last night…(yes!.. he got out of bed to come down & tell me!!)…& I didn’t have any dried fruit in the store cupboard!!

I had one with a cup of green tea at 4pm, with a teaspoon of raspberry jam! Very nice it was too…and quite guilt free as it was all accounted for within my daily allowances!! Can you tell it’s weigh in time tomorrow morning!!

Anyhow…I must go & feed my menfolk…thanks for dropping by & hope to see you here again soon!

Fabulous layout Sandi! I love the dimension and the stitching..well, all of it really! I had to laugh at the story about the cookery ingredients..why does that sound so familiar! I see you like a bit of Bridgewater, too. Excellent!
